1.
Someday I'm gonna go On a big cruise ship from shore to shore Then the shots ring out And I have no doubt I was wrong Someday I'm gonna fly On a big airplane through distant skies Then a siren screams Was it just a dream And was I wrong? Someday I'm gonna be A father and raise a family Then a hammer strikes And it sounds just like I was wrong Someday... Someday... Someday they're gonna see They were all wrong about me Did you hear that sound? Like thunder falling down And I was wrong Someday I'm gonna sing Gonna let freedom ring Then the shots ring out And the blood runs down And I have no doubt It all went wrong Someday... Someday... Someday... Someday...

Sun goes down every night When it comes back up, there's a little less light And I know it won't last Forever Tears fall down every night When morning comes, I still don't feel right But I know it won't last Forever Miss my friends every night When I wake up, I'm gonna fight 'Cause I know that they're gone Forever I wonder why it wasn't me In the cemetery Walk with me through the night Don't be afraid to be a light 'Cause you know it won't last Forever And I know this won't last Forever

about

These songs were inspired by some dark and frustrated reflections on the recent mass shootings in the United States. Part 1 is about all of the different dreams cut short by these senseless crimes. Part 2 is about surviving and trying to find space for continued hope.

Performed with a fretless banjo made by Eric Prust. Recorded with a Tascam DR-40.

The album cover is picture I took a few years ago along one of the walking trails at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. The tree really does fork into two separate parts for several feet that rejoin higher up.
